We know the fruits of this can be innovation, creation, inspiration &#8211; even when motivation is waning.<\/p>\n<p>ArtsACTION is based in keeping our spirits up and remaining productive \u2013 regardless of circumstances. With this in mind we\u2019ve recently delivered three workshops to nearly 300 participants, against the backdrop of catastrophic summer fires and Covid-19.<\/p>\n<p>We have been impressed by the fortitude, resilience\u2014and sheer will to grow\u2014which was consistently expressed in the participation of creatives, artists and the creative sector as a whole.<\/p>\n<p>The Central Victoria iteration is now complete, but as one door closes, another is open, thanks to Golden Plains Shire.<\/p>\n<p><strong>FREE to participate <\/strong><strong>ArtsACTION<\/strong> <strong>will now be delivered entirely online: <\/strong>Jumpleads and Golden Plains Shire Council are happy to welcome people from all over Victoria\u00a0up to and including September 2020. <a href=\"https:\/\/popupart.com.au\/goldenplains\">Get involved here!<\/a><\/p>\n<h3><strong>What happened at the Central Victorian ArtsACTION workshops?<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>To start with, artists at the first workshop <a href=\"https:\/\/popupart.com.au\/being-market-ready\/\"><strong>Being Market Ready<\/strong><\/a><strong>,<\/strong> looked at what they need to do to present well for new opportunities. The focus was on utilising the skills, support and resources of others.<\/p>\n<p>Participants were provided with practical ideas to broaden networks and methods to collaborate. They were encouraged to become involved in new collective opportunities.<\/p>\n<p>During the workshop, a number of people had the opportunity to pitch their business or project, including:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/popupart.com.au\/regional-arts-park\/\">d-RAP | Digital arts community<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/BendigoArtistsInc\/\">Bendigo Artists Inc<\/a> CAPE Toolkit | Systems for visual arts exhibitions<\/li>\n<li>The Studio | Bendigo Creative Industries Hub<\/li>\n<li>Art on View | Exhibition and art sales space<\/li>\n<li>The Garret | Inclusive arts space<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/elmorecommunityhub\/\">Elmore Community Hub<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/deafcommunities.org.au\/posts\/we-are-excited-to-announce-that-we-now-are-doing-auslan-community-classes-for-ad\/617488695440641\/\">Peppergreen Farm Deaf Hub<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Through this:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>some people realised they shared similar visions and joined forces \u2013 there and then!<\/li>\n<li>others attracted enthusiastic project supporters, audiences, and volunteers<\/li>\n<li>many left with a full contact list of people offering to assist<\/li>\n<li>most came away feeling inspired<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<blockquote><p>&#8220;Thanks so much for this workshop. It was a very good thing for me to have a go at my elevator pitch! I met a lot of interesting people and had some good discussions, as well as thinking about problem solving and working effectively in a team. It was great!&#8221;<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><strong>ArtsACTION Digital Communities<\/strong> \u2013 the third workshop couldn\u2019t have been timed better, as life, work, learning, and socialising all moved online due to the pandemic. This workshop was delivered via Zoom technology generously provided by Deakin University. More than 30 participants jumped online and had a go at connecting, navigating, interacting, collaborating and learning.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-1373 alignleft\" src=\"https:\/\/popupart.com.au\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/04\/IMG_2021-1024x768.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"319\" height=\"239\" srcset=\"https:\/\/popupart.com.au\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/04\/IMG_2021-1024x768.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/popupart.com.au\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/04\/IMG_2021-scaled-600x450.jpg 600w, https:\/\/popupart.com.au\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/04\/IMG_2021-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/popupart.com.au\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/04\/IMG_2021-768x576.jpg 768w, https:\/\/popupart.com.au\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/04\/IMG_2021-1536x1152.jpg 1536w, https:\/\/popupart.com.au\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/04\/IMG_2021-2048x1536.jpg 2048w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 319px) 100vw, 319px\" \/>A big thanks to guest speakers Emma Clohesy from <a href=\"https:\/\/www.happyhandshappyheart.com.au\/\">Happy Hands, Happy Heart<\/a> and Rohit Thomas from <a href=\"https:\/\/trioagency.com.au\/\">Trio Agency<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Emma provided great advice on building an engaged community online and emphasised the need to provide great content that lives and breathes.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Rohit made some great comparisons on the different types of websites and e-commerce platforms to assist in selling work online.<\/p>\n<p>Karen Le Rossignol presented the <a href=\"https:\/\/popupart.com.au\/regional-arts-park\/\">Deakin University digital regional arts park<\/a>, currently in development, providing an opportunity for artists to get involved.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><em>\u201cEngaging in this style of meeting for the first time was awesomely inspiring and has just opened a world of opportunities to me\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cI found the language around digital communities very useful; the idea of what digital links are and what I already use; the difference between a digital platform and engagement with them.\u201d<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>In all &#8211; a fabulous attempt at winning under extreme circumstances!<\/p>\n<p>ArtsACTION was originally developed through funding by the Australia Government Building Better Regions Fund in partnership with the Shires of Bendigo, Macedon, Mt Alexander, and Hepburn.
